Eerie Picture

This is quite the eerie picture. I came across it on a news blog site put together by MSNBC. it came with this caption: "The Times-Picayune newspaper from Aug. 28 remains behind on Sept. 20 as an eerie souvenir in a deserted, once-flooded housing complex near the Little Woods section of New Orleans. (David Friedman / MSNBC.com)"

It kinda has a way of putting things in perspective. I mean, almost a month later. nothing changed. little done. just mere existence is at stake here. forget about the raise at work, or the new car that's been striking your fancy, or even the new tv you just bought.

People all over the gulf coast are now saying that things don't matter anymore, as long as i get out of here alive. kinda has a way of taking your eyes of the temporary doesn't it? kindof an oxymoron. at once you're thinking about nothing but your immediate circumstances...and eternity. who wants to die like that? apparently not 1.3 million Houston-ians. They're clogging 100 miles of 8-lane highway.

Do we have a mission field here in our own backyard or what?
